Nealon was a herring fisherman who fished out of Oulu. Every herring fisherman who knew him wanted him on his boat, because he seemed to attract herring. When the herring season was over, Nealon fished for salmon, char, pike, or zander; however, only herring seemed to have a thing for getting near to Nealon. “There’s hardly anything more beautiful than a herring fresh out of the sea,” said Nealon.
