Codrin loved fungi, but thought truffles were mostly decorative, whereas the best edible fungi were more filling, more interesting, and more tasty than meat. Porcini, Black Trumpet, Chanterelle, Cremini, Enoki, Morel, Oyster, Lion’s Mane, Portobello, Shiitake, Codrin loved them. Transylvanian truffles were harvested only in the wild and sold mainly for foreign consumption, but local restaurants were great consumers of fungi that Codrin grew in his warehouse.
