Rayko was a native Bulgarian and a translator for German, Italian, and English. He didn’t like French because the French are too picky. He worked, officially, for a translation agency, but he spent the last five years at the European Trade Centre, where he had begun to despise foreign businessmen working to remove wealth from Bulgaria.
