- For T.
- Warm is not the word for what
- your body lends to mine;
- heat hides just so
- below your skin, your mouth
- breathes fire into me and
- I lay dead or dying beneath the flame
- your body frames me in
- I move, your weight shifts
- for me, lifts slight the space
- between us sucking suddenly
- the air closing with a dark & fitted force
- back down, together.
- Small, or safe, are not the words
- for what your body pushes me
- to feel; your toes save my feet,
- your thighs give mine a reason,
- your arms, surrounding me,
- extend my reach.
- I love; I tell your body
- with my own, let skin & hair & teeth
- create emotion, let bone and muscle
- receive their own
- your body
- gives me what I wan to hear, gives
- texture & dimension as a clock tells
- time; its moving tells me I’m alive.
- Alive is not the word for what
- your body lets me feel;
- there is no word
- and you alone can say it
