Nobility

Is there anything noble, worthy of respect, in animals that are hunted? After we remove their predators, are we responsible for controlling a population of deer in danger of stressing their environment? Is the bald eagle majestic? Is there anything noble in hunting for survival? Is there anything noble in humankind, such as refinement of attention and tools to accomplish a difficult task? Is it nobility, or is might making right? Do (or should) animals have rights, or only humans? Is there value in every life, or only human life? Can we judge what’s best for other species? Can we even determine what each species wants or needs?
