The science was untested and Xavier was one of only four subjects, but each subject turned out different, so it’s impossible to say whether the experiment succeeded. Understandably, Xavier kept it pretty much a secret, even though he constantly made comparisons in an effort to distinguish what was real from what was an artifact.
