The rats of New York are legendary but, unlike dragons, they thrive today in every sewer, every alley, every subway, tunnel, and hollow. The city is a porous rat castle. Rats thrive on people’s garbage and carry numerous diseases. If only rats would eat cockroaches, then they would have at least some redeeming value.
