Most people fear the vampire bat without good reason. Yes, they might get tangled in your hair if you don’t wear a hat out at night, and, if they bite, you might get rabies, but unlike mythical vampires their bite does not turn you into a vampire. Normally these innocent bloodsuckers feed on the legs of roosting birds and the birds don’t feel a thing.
