Church of Comics

In under a year, this church has split into several denominations. Originally focusing on the teachings of newspaper comic strips, different congregations now meet to share comic books, manga, animated comics, superhero comics, sci-fi, horror, teen, goth, counter-cultural, and only the classics. “Here we used to call each other nerds, like we were owning that,” said Dick Durban. “But being a nerd is not for everyone, and comics do have a universal appeal.” “Comic strips alone have enough theology that it could take twenty years to explicate and appreciate them, then we would start all over.” “That’s what we say. Explicate! Appreciate! Alleviate! But not necessarily in that order.”
