Slavic May

For the Polish, May is maj “month of Maia,” the goddess of growth. For Croatians, svȋbanj “month of budding Cornel trees.” For Ukrainians, May is травень (traven) “month of grasses.” For Macedonians, May is Косар (Kosar) “month of flowering grasses and shrubs.” For the Czechs, May is květen “month of blossoms.”
