谷风 诗经

习习谷风，以阴以雨。 黾勉同心，不宜有怒。 采葑采菲，无以下体？ 德音莫违，及尔同死。 行道迟迟，中心有违。 不远伊迩，薄送我畿。 谁谓荼苦？其甘如荠。 宴尔新昏，如兄如弟。 泾以渭浊，湜湜其沚。 宴尔新昏，不我屑以。 毋逝我梁，毋发我笱。 我躬不阅，遑恤我后。 就其深矣，方之舟之。 就其浅矣，泳之游之。 何有何亡，黾勉求之。 凡民有丧，匍匐救之。 不我能慉，反以我为雠， 既阻我德，贾用不售。 昔育恐育鞫，及尔颠覆。 既生既育，比予于毒。 我有旨蓄，亦以御冬。 宴尔新昏，以我御穷。 有洸有溃，既诒我肄。 不念昔者，伊余来塈。

Valley wind (literal translation)

The gentle valley wind blows, bringing shade and rain. Let us strive together with one heart, and let there be no anger. Gathering turnips and radishes, let us not neglect the lower parts. Do not violate the virtuous words, and I will die with you. Walking slowly on the road, my heart is troubled. Not far away, you send me off to the border. Who says the bitter herb is bitter? It is as sweet as shepherd’s purse. You feast with your new spouse, like brother and sister. The Jing River is turbid with the Wei River, its waters clear in the shallows. You feast with your new spouse, and you disdain me. Do not cross my bridge, do not disturb my fish trap. I cannot even take care of myself, how can I care for my descendants? Where it is deep, we use boats and rafts. Where it is shallow, we swim and wade. Whether there is abundance or scarcity, we strive to obtain it. When the people suffer loss, we crawl to their rescue. You cannot cherish me, instead you treat me as an enemy. You have hindered my virtue, and my goods are unsaleable. In the past, you nurtured me in fear and hardship, until your downfall. Now that I have grown up, you treat me like poison. I have delicious provisions, also to ward off winter. You feast with your new spouse, using me to relieve your poverty. There is brilliance and decay, and you have left me with suffering. You do not remember the past, and I have come to this end.
