Anomalous wildlife activity

Hikers Belinda and Paul tell this story. They were hiking the Stehekin River trail. They were the only hikers that morning. They turned a bend and had to stop. Ahead of them were two bears, three beavers, about six deer, and numerous squirrels. All the animals were in a circle facing toward the center and they were lying on their bellies with paws and hooves in front of them. It was as though Saint Francis were at the center of the circle, preaching to them, but nobody was there. Belinda and Paul quietly turned around. If they were supposed to have been invited, they figured, they were too late to participate. Even if they saw what they say they saw, nobody reported anything like that again. If the circle were ever repeated, the animals did it further away from the trail.
