In the future, Olympic athletes will need to go through body scans not only to prove they’re human but also to show they haven’t been modified and that they host no surgically embedded computers, communicators, or drug injectors. Cheating will become so commonplace that cheaters will win discrimination lawsuits. There will be a backlash against using the term “cheater.” Separate Olympic competitions will be set up for chemical and biological enhancements and for internal and external body extensions. High schools and colleges will also develop parallel programs, and they will struggle against cheating on tests. In professional sports like wrestling and football, cheating will be institutionalized. All players will be on coms to coordinate and update plays on the fly. Football players will be able to replace body parts with robotic extensions that are more durable and don’t get tired. The quarterback will get a throwing arm; the defensive linemen will have claws that can dig into the astroturf. The basketball player will get jumping assists. The hockey player will be genetically modified to improve endurance and quickness. Bionic eyeballs will show angle and trajectory calculations. Sports will be testing grounds for the military, and will be funded as extensions of national war efforts. For future soldiers, cheating will not be criminalized. No rule or law will be made to apply to limit the abilities of soldiers.
