Walled-over closets

In Shanghai, a new apartment building was finished and units were sold without revealing that each apartment had an area that was walled over. Several owners complained that a space was missing between the bathroom and a bedroom where there could be a closet but that in their apartment there was only a blank wall. The builder said that nobody had any right to complain because when they bought the units this extra closet wasn’t there, so nobody stole it from them. Asked if they’d remove the wall and put a door on the closet, the builder said no, they wouldn’t. They showed blueprints to the owners that showed that the architect didn’t intend to have a closet there.
