Coaster

Everyone who worked at the Santa Cruz boardwalk knew Coaster, the cat. It’s not known when he first jumped into a roller coaster car, but we know how he got his name. Coaster was featured in an article on 9 June 1984 in the Santa Cruz Sentinel. A couple, John and Lily Bane, had just sat down for a ride when they were surprised by a cat who jumped up on John’s lap. Since the ride was just starting, John just held on to Coaster for the coming dips and turns. This wasn’t Coaster’s first ride. This cat loved roller coasters and all its rides were free.
