A small boy digging in the woods during his family vacation in upper-state New York hit something metallic with his shovel. He tried to dig it up, thinking he had found buried treasure, but didn’t have a shovel that was big enough. He ran back to the cabin and dragged his older brother out. The two of them exposed ten feet of a curved and shiny metal object. It was clearly not a treasure chest. Growing tired, they weren’t able to find the end of it. They went back and told their father. In the morning, the three of them went into the woods, but in place of their excavation there was a large sinkhole as though a cave had collapsed.
