Untrue rumors

It’s simply not true that any law-enforcement agency is working on a better non-lethal gun that can disable an attacker. Nets, silly putty sprays, and chemicals that can temporarily disable a person can be administered by a simple airgun. There are many well-known alternatives, but law-enforcement agents like shooting people with real bullets. It’s simply not true that any U. S. state with a regressive tax structure is ready to stop robbing the poor to pay for the rich. We have to remember who can afford to pay for direct elections. It’s simply not true that the U.S. government has considered giving all citizens a living wage, even though it would pay for itself by lowering health-care costs, reducing crime rates, and improving productivity and competitiveness. It’s simply not true, except in communist countries, that education is considered a responsibility, and not a privilege. It’s simply not true that public health is considered to be a more effective national defense than military spending, even though should be. It’s simply not true that governments in the U. S. have found that punishing their own people for the color of their skin or their sexual orientation isn’t the best way to help them succeed. It’s simply not true that any nuclear nation on earth has decided to unilaterally disarm. If it were to set that example, the threat of mutual destruction would be diminished and it’s own survival would be assured, but the dog-eat-dog mindset prevails even among our leading nations. Attractive lies spread faster than unsatisfactory truths.
