My grandparents had a shop, but father ran an import business. Fabrics, spices, porcelain— whatever he could get for less than it was worth. He talked to the shop owners about that they needed, then he went out and got it for them. I’m more of a specialist; I like importing containers, especially boxes with false bottoms. False bottoms are a great convenience when dealing with customs inspectors, even less expensive than bribes.
