It’s easy to get along with anyone if you speak his language. Port to port, different languages, and I got along with nearly everyone. I didn’t have to tote bales or trim sails in the gales. I had a long and easy voyages. Plenty of time on my hands to study my books, pick up a few idioms. I even know the language of my own people.
