Violence against artifice

Violence against artifice, against hypocrisy, against insincerity, against enervating myths, is it invariably physical? Maybe we should use another word. Is depicting violence invariably violent? Can’t a threatening symbolic act compel an act of kindness? Can speech itself, I mean speech that isn’t a command and that doesn’t even indirectly urge an action, be violent, or is it only misunderstanding listeners who can be violent? If hypnosis can’t compel a person to commit a violent act against the person’s moral principles, how could free speech do so?
