Nothing interrupts this gray cloud. Nothing’s between the sky and the mud. No one can tell a horse from a cow. Each river merges with the others. Mold grows on millet in the field. Farmers have given up hope. The price of rice rises like the waters. Buyers pay whatever speculators demand.
