Norse superhero paganism

A new denomination of Norse paganism is being tried in Thórsmörk,
Hveragerði, Iceland, at the Asatrukirkja, which used to be a small theater. We talked with Björn Björnsson. “We got this building with the screen and projector, so we had an idea. Why not tell the sagas in the context of books, movies, and fanzines based on Odin, Freyja, Thor, and the rest of the panoply?” I asked Björn if this practice appealed mainly to younger believers. He replied, “Yes, but you know, we spend more time talking about the many ways in which the superhero movies and stories are plainly wrong.”
