My robe is green with a yellow lining, the colors of grasses. My wife sewed this robe, and now she’s passed away. My heart is filled with sorrow; how long will it last? Whom can I ask? The ancients are silent. My heart is caught in the green and yellow weave, and the robe is turning in the wind, like the grasses.
绿兮衣兮,绿衣黄里。 心之忧矣,曷维其已。 绿兮衣兮,绿衣黄裳。 心之忧矣,曷维其亡。 绿兮丝兮,女所治兮。 我思古人,俾无訧兮。 絺兮綌兮,凄其以风。 我思古人,实获我心。
