She got up to work when the rooster crowed, but it was still dark so he wanted to stay in bed. She told him that the ducks and geese would fly off before he got up, and he said that only thing flying off were the stars. The wife wanted her husband to catch lots of game. They had promised to honor and support each other, but it was easier to love each other when drinking wine or when playing zither and lute together. She wasn’t perfect, but she gave him all she had. He wasn’t perfect, but he gave her all he could. They cared about each other; that was clear. How they lived together was their own business.
