Sandy Stream · Five poems written on the road to thank the rain at Xumenshitan (literal translation)

1 The deep red and warm sun makes fish visible, and the dark green of Lianxi hides crows in the evening. The yellow boy and the white old man gather and look around. Deer are not used to seeing people, and monkeys don’t need to call when they hear drums. Go home and tell the mulberry picking girl. 2 Swept away red makeup to see the envoy, three or five of them were at the thorny fence gate. They stepped on the red silk skirts. Old and young helped each other to harvest wheat, and crows and kites danced like gods in the village. I met a drunken old man lying in the evening on the road. 3 The layers of hemp leaves are shining, and the whole village is fragrant with cocoons boiled in the house. The silk weaving girl whispered across the fence. The white stick was hanging down to raise the drunken eyes, and the green pounded dough softened the hungry stomach. Asked when the bean leaves would turn yellow 4 Date flowers fall from the clothes and scarves rustling, the reeling wheels sound in the south and north of the village. Cows are selling cucumbers under the old willows. I am tired from drinking and the journey is long, I just want to sleep, the sun is high and I am thirsty, I want tea. Knock on the door and ask the wild man’s house. 5 The soft grass and flat sedge are new after the rain, the light sand is dust-free when walking on the road. When will I finish farming?. The sun is warm and the mulberry and hemp are shining like splashes, the wind blows and the mugwort smells like incense. The envoy is originally a person in this place.
