During Dragon Boat Festival

I went wherever I wanted to wander and lingered when something caught my eye. I burned incense and took a quiet stroll. I drank tea and took a quiet lunch. A light rain stopped and then resumed. A sun-shower lit up small temple windows. Penshan temple lies in a basin of mountains surrounded by green grass and trees. I climbed to the top of Feiying Pagoda and could see across the vast world. The sun on Bian Mountain lit up the walls of Huzhou and Huzhou’s southwest district floated in the clouds. I love the crowded venues, where anything goes, but the wide open spaces are also generous. My search for peace isn’t over. The evening smoke rises from village roofs. At home, I wrote about my wanderings. I couldn’t sleep, concerned about others’ misfortunes. At the temple, I knew, the monk had lit a lamp and meditated with me throughout the night.
