A person can’t go anywhere in these times because of skirmishes or fear of skirmishes. Only geese venture near the borders. First frost, clear sky. At night the moon seems just as bright as it seemed at home, but there’s no home left there anymore. I’ve sent letters out to everyone I know, but I haven’t had word of my brothers. War scrambles everything and promises nothing.
