Two poems on the meditation room at the Double Bamboo Monastery (literal translation)

1 I am a fisherman on the lake, and I find the high house chilly. I envy Master Zhan’s room, where a single stick of incense lingers all day long. 2 The evening drum and morning bell strike, and I lie alone, facing a dim lamp, behind closed doors. White ash whirls into a fiery red fire, and I lie listening to the rustling rain against the window.
