In Hangzhou they keep the lanterns lit for three or five nights. The bright moon is like frost, shining on people like a painting. The sound of a flute, the smell of spices, it doesn’t get better than that. People in Mizhou are old farmers, more relaxed than in Hangzhou. The lanterns are dim, the air is cold, dew falls on us like frost. A frozen mist hangs over the fields.
灯火钱塘三五夜。明月如霜,照见人如画。 帐底吹笙香吐麝。此般风味应无价。 寂寞山城人老也。 击鼓吹箫,乍入农桑社。 火冷灯稀霜露下。 昏昏雪意云垂野。
