I long recall the time of our parting, the moon atop the sparsely lit tower, as bright as water. Fine wine and clear songs linger, the moon follows me a thousand miles away. Thrice since we parted, my lonely light is full again, lonely and lonely, with whom can I share my drunkenness? Rolling up the pearl curtain, I gaze sadly at my reflection, sleepless with her until dawn. Today a guest arrives from the Huai River, who can convey the envoy’s deep feelings. Relying on the clear Huai River, I see the sea, filled with tears of longing. Where are you now? The western wall is clear, the night long and the dew soaks into the quilt. Looking at this moment, the morning moon over the corridor should also be remembered.
