Song of Water Melody · When will the bright moon appear (literal translation)

On the Mid-Autumn Festival of Bingchen, I drank until dawn and got drunk. I wrote this poem, thinking of Ziyou. When will the bright moon appear? I raise my cup to ask the blue sky. I don’t know what year it is in the palace in heaven. I want to ride the wind to go back, but I am afraid that the jade buildings are too cold up there. I stand up to dance with my shadow, but it seems like I am not in the human world. I turn around the red pavilion, lower the beautiful window, and shine on the sleepless. I should not have any hatred, why does it always appear full when we are apart? People have joys and sorrows, separations and reunions, and the moon waxes and wanes, which is difficult to achieve since ancient times. I wish you a long life, and we can share the beauty of the moon even though we are thousands of miles apart.
